PPC (Pay Per Click) is the text advertising on the result pages of search engines such as Google. The fee is charged only when the ad is clicked.

In the blue box, it is the result of "Paid Search" or "Paid Listing" is the part for PPC (Pay Per Click). For the listing below the organic result is the organic search called "SEO (Search Engine Optimization)".
PPC (Pay Per Click) uses keyword auctions with "CPC (Cost Per Click)" to determine the ad positions. If advertisers need their ads to be shown up on the top, they need to bid high CPC. However, for ad position in Google AdWords PPC Program, it uses "Quality Score" which is a system to estimate the quality of ads, keywords, and landing pages. If the keywords have got higher Quality Score, advertisers can pay lower CPC and get better ad positions.
