PPC (Pay Per Click) is the text advertising on the result pages of search engines such as Google.
The fee is charged only when the ad is clicked.

What is PPC (Pay Per Click) ?

"PPC" or "Pay Per Click" is advertising on Search Result Pages or search engine display pages such as Google, Yahoo!, Bing, Baidu, etc. The cost is calculated based on the number of clicks on the advertisement text. If there is no click on the advertisement, there will be no cost for advertising. The PPC advertising system is currently popular worldwide and has 4 major service providers:

  1. Google Ads (formerly known as Google AdWords)  (most commonly used in many countries worldwide)
  2. Yahoo! (popular in Japan and Hong Kong)
  3. Bing (popular in the United States)
  4. Baidu (for use in China)

In the blue frame is the area of advertising where payment is required when a click occurs, known in Thailand as PPC (Pay Per Click), while in Japan it is called P4P (Pay for Performance or Pay for Placement) or Listing Advertising, which is a part of "SEM (Search Engine Marketing)" or marketing on search engines. The section at the bottom shows the regular search results, which are called "SEO (Search Engine Optimization)" - the process of optimizing a website to rank in this section.

PPC is a type of advertising on the search result page or search display page. We have to bid on keywords to make our ads appear when someone searches on the search engine. The position of the ad is determined by the bid value called CPC (Cost Per Click), which is the price we set for each click on our ad through the advertisement. We have to pay the search engine every time someone clicks on our ad, up to a maximum amount. The CPC of each keyword varies depending on the popularity of the keyword and the competition.

Of course, if we want our ad to appear on top, we have to bid higher CPC than our competitors. However, Google Ads (Google AdWords) also has a Quality Score, which is a variable used to determine the position of the ad based on the quality of the ad, such as relevance to the keyword and landing page. If the keyword has a high-Quality Score, we can pay a lower CPC but still get a good ad position. Overall, we may end up paying the same amount for advertising, but we can get more clicks with a higher Quality Score.

Who is PPC marketing suitable for?

The position of PPC is a noticeable part on the Search Result Page, making it easier for users to see our website. In addition, even if there is no click to view the site but the name of the website and the content that we want to advertise can be displayed for users to see, which does not incur any cost as there is no click-through.

Flexibility to select or adjust keywords and ad copy to align with current trends, and can opt to display or pause ads at any time.

PPC advertising can increase the chance of website visits and boost sales. Additionally, we can target specific audiences globally by language or location. The cost will only be incurred per click and we can also set a budget for advertising.

Can be displayed ads on the Search Result Page within a few minutes without having to spend time optimizing the website or waiting for rankings like SEO.

If there are keywords that you want to appear in the search results or keywords that have been optimized for SEO, but the website is not ranked well, you can use PPC advertising to make the website appear on the first page as well.
